About the Participants
Identifying and Recruiting Participants
The criteria for participation in this study was based on potential participants working in the Visual Art Education field or having an interest in the provision of Visual Art Education in Australia i.e administrators, teachers, academics, gallery or museum educators and artist practitioners. A data base was developed of representatives and key personnel from
- Australian Universities (Education and Art Faculties)
- Organisations and Institutions linked to the visual arts government / nongovernment, professional associations and bodies, galleries, museums, community arts centres
- Individuals who through various networks have expressed interest to be involved.
The key individuals’ organisations or institutions linked to visual art education listed on our database were sent an introductory email explaining the purpose and methodology of the research, it also contained the survey URL. We invited them as well as relevant staff in their organization to complete the survey. Following a snowball sampling approach we also encouraged them to circulate or forward on the survey to their respective networks i.e. other potential participants via email.
We sent the survey to 100 email addresses.
