Grainger Re-animated

In the animation below, Bachelor of Fine Arts Animation students from the Victorian College of Arts, University of Melbourne, re-animate Percy Grainger.

For this project, students played with the themes and images of the exhibition Grainger Photographed. One key photograph from the exhibition was digitally split into separate planes or ‘layers’ in order to create various spatial illusions. These effects are often referred to as “multiplane”, “2.5d” and “parallax effects”. The students also incorporated their own animation content and additional photographic portraits from Grainger Photographed.
