Redmond Barry Building

Description

The Redmond Barry building opened in 1961. "Designed (by staff architect, Rae Featherstone) to provide low-cost expansion for both humanities and science departments, the former North building, renamed the Redmond Barry Building in honour of the founding Chancellor, It was one of the earliest realisations of Brian Lewis's 1948 master plan that aimed at placing tall buildings around the perimeter of the site so as to keep the traditional centre of the university open."
