Living in Extraordinary Times
The strength of the Australian Red Cross has been to gather support for causes that affect us all. Over more than 100 years, this has included collecting food and clothes for distribution to those in need, drawing together volunteers to support a cause and providing practical care.
During wartime, the Australian Red Cross channelled the efforts of thousands to fundraise and provide food parcels to serving soldiers. The organisation also provided medical care, critical support to those who were in prisoner of war camps and support to families of the missing and wounded.
