The only account of the Xavier Octave given in the Dresden Diarium Missionis for 1727 notes that on the Vigil of the octave (2 December) the Xavier Litanies were performed at 4.00 pm. The annual letter for 1727 reported that celebrations in honour of Saints Ignatius and Xavier and of other patron saints were attended by the Princess and her court. The Holy Apostle to the Indies (St Francis Xavier) was venerated during his octave by solemn sung litanies and also a devotion extending over ten days. (‘Sanctorum Patrum Nostorum Ignatii et Xaverii, caetèrorùmque Indigetum honor Serenissimam Regiam Principem, aulàmque comitem praesentem habuit. Sanctus Indiarum Apostolus per octavam solenniter decantatis Litaniis à Serenissima Principe Teschnensi, Illustrissimis praeterea ex Aula personis decendiali continua devotione cultus’). Annuae Litterae Missionis Dresdensis ad annum 1727, ARSI (I-Rar), Boh 143, 18.
