Between 1666 and 1680 Paola Seppi was a vocalist (altist) in the first chorus of the Dresden Hofkapelle. See Fürstenau (v. 1, 157, 254), who names this composer “Paolo Seppi”.. Eitner (v. 9, 142) names him as “Sepp (Seppi), Paul, and writes ‘Altist an der Hofkapelle in Dresden, lässt 1675 seine Familie aus Regensburg nachkommen.’ In his Commonplace Book, Johann Sigismund Cousser listed one Beatus vir setting by ‘Sepp’ for four voices (a cappella) as being held by Emanuel Benisch senior, organist (between 1695 and 1725) of the Dresden Kreuzkirche.
