Remarks

This incipit corresponds with No 4 (‘Transuente Domino’) from Caldara’s [12] Motetti a due, e tre voci Op. 4 for Canto, Alto, Basso, Violone o Tiorba, Organo. The now-missing collection of the 12 Offertoria pro Quadragesima, listed in the Catalogo (1765) under Musica senza nome dell’Autore seems to have been a series of re-workings undertaken by Zelenka in Dresden based upon Caldara’s 12 Motetti a due, e tre Voci, a collection dedicated to Cardinal Ottoboni and published as Op. 4 (Bologna: Silvani, 1715).
See Stockigt, ‘Musica senza nome’, 32 (28.14).
In the ‘Catalogo della Musica di Chiesa’ (c1784) score only is shown for No 9 of the 12 anonymous Offertoria Pro Quadragesima’, Transeunte Domino (III/25/14). Scoring given as ‘à 2 voci, A. e T. senza stromenti’. The incipit (in tenor clef) agrees with the incipit of the tenor part of No 4, ‘Transuente Domino’ from Caldara’s 12 Motetti, Op. 4. (Text from Matt. 20. 30; Mark 10, 46-49; Luke 18. 35-39)
