Remarks
Bound autogr. score. Parts are missing from Dresden.
Title page: 15 (pencil) 58. No: 1 (centre; non-autogr:) No: 16 (right; non-autogr.) | Litaniae | pro Festo Corporis Domini | à 4 Voc. | con Violini et [insert NB: 3] Hautbois [insert: con sor(dini)] etc. | di Giov. Heinichen.
Additional autogr. notes (left): 1727 aufgeführt | 1728 zweimal aufgeführt (the remainder is illegible). Heinichen often wrote comments on scores about praise given for music he directed in the royal chapel. Most of these remarks were obliterated by an unknown person, perhaps because the recording of personal praise for music intended for a royal chapel was considered unseemly.
Caption title: Litania pro fest. Corporis Dni. Di Giov. Heinichen. Conclusion of score: Mes. Maij 1723. 1/2 hora piccola.(Performance time was a little less than 30 minutes).
During the years covered by the Dresden Diarium Missionis (1712–1738), it is reported that Heinichen was responsible for the performance of sacramental litanies during the Corpus Christi octaves in 1722, 1723, 1724, 1725, and 1726. The margin notes ‘1727 aufgeführt | 1728 zweimal aufgeführt’ on the title page of this work point to further performances of Mus. 2398-D-31 in those years.
