Remarks
Bound score (autogr?). Cover is missing.
Caption title: Te Deum Laudamus Duni. (in another hand) 1746.
The pages between the conclusion of ‘Tu ad liberandum suscepturus hominem, non horruisti Virginis uterum’ and ‘Tu devicto mortis’ (pp. 35–42) were once sewn together.
This score is in the hand seen in all sources of sacred music by Antonio Duni listed into this Catalogo (1765), now held in SLUB.
After the deaths of both August II (1733) and August III (1763) most of the court records and royal music collections previously held in Warsaw were moved to Dresden and items of music were then integrated into the Dresden collections. Thus, works by the Italian composers, including Antonio Duni (a Kapellmeister of the Polnische Kapelle), came into the collection of Dresden’s Catholic court church. See Bacciagaluppi & Stockigt, ‘Italian Manuscripts of Sacred Music in Dresden’, 143, citing Alina Zórawska-Witkowska, ‘The Saxon Court of the Kingdom of Poland’.
Note Eitner’s attribution (a common error).
