Remarks
Bound score of Kyrie and Gloria with cover.
Cover title: In Nomine Domini | Messa à 4 Voci| con | Violini, Violetta, é Basso | del | Sigl Antonio Duni | [1]744.
This score is in the hand seen in all sources of sacred music by Antonio Duni listed into this Catalogo (1765), now held in SLUB.
After the deaths of both August II (1733) and August III (1763) most court records and royal music collections previously held in Warsaw were moved to Dresden and items of music were then integrated into the Dresden collections. Thus, works by the Italian composers based in Poland, including Antonio Duni (a Kapellmeister of the Polnische Kapelle), came into the collection of Dresden’s Catholic court church. See Bacciagaluppi & Stockigt, ‘Italian Manuscripts of Sacred Music in Dresden’, 143, citing Alina Zórawska-Witkowska, ‘The Saxon Court of the Kingdom of Poland’.
Note Eitner’s attribution (a common error).
