Remarks

Bound score copy. Blue-grey wrapper with later binding. Parts missing from Dresden.
Label on outer binding (pencil): Aldrovandini (left) Credo (right).
Inner binding: ‘A 3’ (pencil). Cover title (Zelenka’s hand): Nro 5 (upper right) | Credo a 4 | C: A: T: B: | Violin 2 | Viola 1 | e | Basso Continuo | Aldrovandini.
Zelenka figured the bass line of this copy after late-1725. Wolfgang Horn (Die wichtigsten Schreiber,163) identifies the copyist of Mus. 2204-D-2 as ZS 0 (associated with Zelenka from c1725 until the early 1730s). Much of the text underlay is missing from the score.
Accompanying the Credo entry in his Inventarium are Zelenka’s notes: ‘Oss:’ (Cistercian monastery at Osek, Northern Bohemia), and ‘P’ (margin).
Concordance: CZ-Pak, 1. Štefan ([2] Sign. 1), prov. Joseph Antonín Sehling. (CATB, Vno, Org). RISM ID no. 550018163.
On this setting see Horn (Hkm, 128), and Zelenka-Dokumentation, 48, incipit Nr. 25.
A set of parts with the Catalogo label of c1784 is held in the Russian State Library in Moscow. In the presentation of Maria Sawinkova to the Zelenka Conference (Prague, 2018), the catalogue label in the hand of Carl Gottlob Uhle was shown. It reads: Lit A. Schranck No: I | 1. Fach 3. Lage | Credo | à 4. voci | co’ VVni Viola ed Org. | Partitura e parti | del Sigr. Aldrovandini | [incipit]. Title on the inner blue-grey wrapper for the parts in the hand of Zelenka is almost identical to the cover to the score reads: Nro 4to | Credo à 4 | C. A. T. B. | Violin 2 | Viola 1 | e | Basso Continin | Aldrovandini. Performance parts in the hand of ZS 0 include C.A.T.B 'Ripieno'; vn.1; vn.2; vc; tiorba; ‘Hautbois I‘; ‘Hautbois 2‘; ‘Fagotto‘; ‘Basso Ripieno‘. No parts exist for solo singers (even though the score indicates that vocal soloists and chorus were required), nor for organ. Two oval stamps, which may be those of the BIBLIOTHECA MUSICA REGIA, are visible but almost illegible.
