Cover label: Albrici [?]; A 1d | Ms. (pencil). Reverse: A 1d. Caption title: Sig. Vincentius Albrici. S: E: S: C: M:
Scored for SSATB, 4 tr, timp., vn 1. vn 2. A va . T va. bass, bc.
Barbara Renton, ‘The Musical Culture of Eighteenth-Century Bohemia’, 498, lists a mass by Albrici in the Osek music inventory of 1706, and also in the [non-thematic] inventory of Florian Burian, 1720 (505). See listing 33 on f. 1r: ‘Sacra elegans ex C. Alberici’. This mass is unlisted in the later thematic catalogue begun in 1753/4 by the Osek Regens chori, Nivardus Som]m]er: Catalogus Musicalium pro Chorò Ossecénsi
The SLB card catalogue has one entry only for this work.
Gerhard Poppe (‘Kontinuität der Institution’, 72–3) suggests that this mass came into the royal collection via the Catholic court church from the Lutheran chapel of the Dresden court where Albrici had intermittently served as a musician between 1656 and 1681.
In his Commonplace Book, Johann Sigismund Cousser listed four Kyrie settings by ‘Vinc:’ [Albrici]—one for five voices, two clarini and six instruments—as being held by Emanuel Benisch senior, organist (between 1695 and 1725) of the Dresden Kreuzkirche. See Samantha Owens, ‘Music by Correspondence', 260–70.
