Semantic Ontology
We have begun to map our semantic ontology to generate a knowledge map of the 'Arts Imperatives' research to date. Thsi map will gorw as new sites are created.
Semantics organises data into well-defined categories with clearly defined relationships. This is important in a post-digital methods research proejct that urilises a multi-sites flat SPACE ontology to generate research. 'Classifying' information in this way has enabled humans and machines to read, understand and infer knowledge based on its classification for many decades. In this instance, it helps us ot see how multi-cited and sited our research is we we seek to imagine and speculate on futures that are made possible by our collective research. As a team of collaborative researchers we have been expoloring hwo to ensure our arts edcuation is sustainable, equitable, access-able, reponse-bale and generative for a borad global community, and representative of sustaining futures that we should be striving for or futures that we should resist in arts education.
Semantics is the study of meaning; through the careful and considered design of our semantic ontology and agreed upon understanding of the meaning of things in arts education this map people should support colleagues as they travel and travserse our digital space. This map can offer insight for noticing and seeing differing points of view through the access in the sites.
