Drawing on the expertise of global partners, our Zotero annotated database of literatures and research related to the imperatives ensures there is an international foci in the following imperatives:

• Decolonisation

• Cultural resilience

• Inclusion, agency, and wellbeing

• The Post-digital age

“Co-constructing ontological meaning requires taking time to slow down and engage in deep social experiences that build strong bonds through speculating, theorising and philosophising about ourselves, others, our world(s), our Future(s)” (Wright & Coleman, 2019, p.130).

To develop these imperatives we have begun to explore the imperatives through the SPACE ontology as a collaborative team. “Working ontologically expands our dialogue about matters within practice-based and practice-led research” (Wright & Coleman, 2019, p.130).

StudioFive is housed at The University of Melbourne, one of Australia’s leading and also conservative Universities which also hosts the only UNESCO Observatory of Arts Education in the country.

StudioFive is designed to cite/site the Australian curriculum ‘The Arts’ in its five art forms: Visual Arts, Music, Drama, Dance and Media Arts, and to encourage cross-disciplinary, multi-modal and integrated learning.  It is founded on a specific ontology called ‘SPACE’, which is about enacting Space, Pedagogy, Artistry, Community and Engagement through “embodied thinking and relating, socio-material engagement, interdisciplinary engagement, participatory practices and co-constructed knowledge building” (Wright &  Coleman, 2019, p. 124).
