Mus. 2358-J-1: Bound score copy of eight arias. This is the dedication copy to accompany Zelenka’s first petition to the Saxon Elector Friedrich August II, the recently-elected King of Poland (1733). The autogr. is missing.

Each aria has an accompaniment of vn. 1,2; va.; b.c. (unfigured). Except for No 1, each is preceded by a page with the number of the item. Titles are: Aria I: Soprano: Si pensi cangiar quel core; Aria II: Soprano: Povera fede, sei pur mal spesa. d minor; Aria III: Alto: E voi siete d’altri; Aria IV: Soprano: Non si trova, né si dà. A; Aria V: Soprano: Se ha per guida la costanza. a minor; Aria VI: Alto: Non sò, se più. E flat; Aria VII: Soprano: Senti: ti voglio ancor. D; Aria VIII: (New hand); Bass; Son da più venti. C
Of the eight Italian texts used by Zelenka two have been traced by Reinhard Strohm. Both come from librettos by Apostolo Zeno. The text of ‘Se ha per guida la costanza’ (No. V) is from the final chorus of Astarto and the text of the final aria ‘Son da più venti legno percosso’ (No. VIII) comes from his libretto for Ormisda.

These arias are unlisted in the ‘Catalogo della Musica di Chiesa’ (c1784).
