Score and parts missing.
In the later ‘Catalogo della Musica di Chiesa composta Da diversi Autori secondo l’Alfabetto Amaro IIIza’ (c1784) score and parts are listed under the heading Pange lingua (III/Z/17/3). Scoring is given as ‘à Contralto Solo co’ VVni Vla Ob: Conc: ed Organo.’
Zelenka also listed a setting of ‘Pange lingua’ into his Inventarium under ‘Mottetti’ No. 8 [...] ‘pro stationibus Theophoricae’ (ie. for a station of the Corpus Christi procession within the Dresden Hofkirche) scored for ‘à 4; stromenti ad lib.’: D-Dl, Mus. 2358-E-23 (formerly Mus. 2358-E-72a).
NB: When transposed the incipit given here agrees with the opening viola part to the aria for alto solo with chalumeau obbligato ‘Recordare Domini’ (g minor) from Zelenka’s sepulchro oratorio: Immisit Dominus pestilentiam (ZWV 58). See III/Z/25/2.
