The feast closest to date of the settings of the Kyrie (23 June 1725) is the Nativity of St John the Baptist (24 June), often mentioned in the Dresden Diarium Missionis as being celebrated with music: Zelenka in 1727 and 1728, and Ristori, 1724. (Could this be the name day of each composer?).
See Zelenka-Dokumentation, 122, Dok. 27; 289, ZWV 27; 290, ZWV 35.
In the later ‘Catalogo della Musica di Chiesa’ (c1784) score and parts are listed for [Messa:] No: 30) Kyrie; parts only for the Sanctus (III/Z/13/3). The Sanctus (here, marked ‘defect’) contains parodies from Palestrina’s Missa sine nomine (D-Dl, Mus. 997-D-38).
