Remarks

Autogr. [?] score. Without cover. Parts are missing.
Caption title: Salve Regina. No composer name given.
Scoring is for: Obois [!] Sola; Violino Sola; Viola; Canto Solo; Organo (unfigured).
NB: Eitner reversed the order of these two Salve Regina settings by Villicus.
In the later ‘Catalogo della Musica di Chiesa ...’ (c1784) score and parts are listed for the antiphon ‘Salve Regina No 1’ by Villicus (III/V/6/13). The scoring is given as: ‘à Soprano Solo co’ VVni. Viola, Ob. Concert: ed Org.’ Hand of ZS 2 in the score.
Villicus was a violinist in the 'Pohlnische Capell-Musici'. His name is appears with this ensemble in the lists for 1730 and 1731 of Catholics eligible to be buried in the Catholic cemetery of Dresden. See Ágústsson and Stockigt in ‘Records of Catholic Musicians, Actors, and Dancers at the Court of Augustus II, 1723–1732’. See also Alina Żórawska-Witkowska in ‘The Saxon Court of the Kingdom of Poland’, Music at German Courts, 61–2.
Incipit given in Zelenka-Dokumentation, 66, Nr. 221.
It is possible that Villicus was a composition student of Zelenka.
