Remarks
Score copy. Blue-grey cover. Parts are missing.
Cover title: N 12. (upper left; Zelenka’s hand) | Salve Regina | à 4 (replacing 8) | 2 Canti A. T. B. | Violini unisoni | Viola concertato | col | Organo | del Sigl Vignati.
Storage information in the hand of Johann Georg Schürer is given on the cover (upper left): Schranck No: III | V. 4. Fach 3. Lage | Salve Regina | à 5. voci | co’ VVni Viola e Basso | Partitura e parti | del Sigr. Vignati | Incipit. (This information corresponds with the entry into this Catalogo of 1765).
In the later ‘Catalogo della Musica di Chiesa ...’ (c1784) score and parts are listed for the antiphon ‘Salve Regina’ by Vignati (III/V/6/12). Scoring: ‘à 5 voci co’ VVni. Oboi, Viola ed Org.’ Below this entry ‘fehlt’ is written.
Although the score is definitely written for five voices (SSATB), Zelenka’s entry in his Inventarium states ‘C:A:T:B:’. (It is not uncommon to see a reduction in voices in Zelenka’s reworkings for the musical conditions of the Catholic court church, especially repertoire to be used by the Kapellknaben).
The incipit is given in Zelenka-Dokumentation, 66, Nr. 220. Horn (‘Die wichtigsten Schreiber’, 165) identifies the copyist of the notation as ZS O.
