Remarks
Score copy.
Cover title (Zelenka’s hand): Upper left ‘C’; Upper right ‘Nr 28’ (which agrees with Zelenka’s listing in the Inventarium). Beatus à 4 | de Padre Urio.
A cover note to a manuscript copy of four psalms composed by Francesco Antonio Urio from a Marian Vespers – Laudate pueri, Laetatus sum, Nisi Dominus and Lauda Jerusalem – held in the Kreuzherren collection, Prague (CZ-Pkřiž; XXXV E 52) states that the Franciscan Friar Padre Francesco Antonio Urio ‘OFM’ (Ordo Fratrum Minorum) was ‘Maestro di Capella nella Chiesa de Francisci di Venetia’.
In the later ‘Catalogo della Musica di Chiesa ...’ (c1784) score and parts are listed for the Beatus vir setting by Padre Urio (III/U/6/10). The scoring is given as: ‘à 4 voci co’ VVni. Oboi, Viola ed Org.’
NB: Zelenka’s c1725 setting of Laudate pueri (ZWV 82, c1725) might have been influenced by this setting of Padre Urio.
Incipit given in Zelenka-Dokumentation, 66, Nr. 219.
Stockigt, ‘The Vespers Psalms of Jan Dismas Zelenka’, App. 2, No. 28.
Horn (‘Die wichtigsten Schreiber’, 165) identifies the copyist as ZS O.
