This Requiem is probably the eighth entry of a presentation copy titled ‘Missa Mortuorum’ listed under ‘No: II Musica di Chiesa di varii Autori’ in the incomplete catalogue of Maria Josepha’s music collection (D-Dl, Bibl.-Arch. III Hb 787c), an inventory that can be dated to c1743, according to Ágústsson, ‘The Secular Vocal Collection of Jan Dismas Zelenka’, 33. It also is listed in the catalogues of August III (Messa de Morti. c.s’), and Friedrich August III (‘Requiem’).
Mus. 2159-D-7b: Set of 31 parts prepared in Dresden (mid-18th century: Not catalogued in 1765) kept in a box.
Spine: Requiem von Lotti. NB: These parts differ from the score. O. Landmann (Drei Studien, 155) identifies the parts as being in the hand of Johann Georg Kremmler.
Mus. 2159-D-7 is a 19th c. copy.
