Remarks
Only the wrapper of this source is now kept in SLUB.
Title on wrapper: No: 1. | Te Deum laudamus: | di | Fiorelli | â 4. Voci | con | Trombe. et Tÿmani | 2) Corni di Caccia | 2) Oboi | 2) Violini | Violetta | et | Organi. (left) Doppiato | (centre) dell’ | Sig: Fiorelli.
The violinist Carlo Fiorelli ceased playing with the Dresden Hofkapelle late in 1711. The ‘Violist Fiorelli’ was listed to travel to Schloss Hartenfels at Torgau for wedding celebrations held there in October 1711. Written next to his name is ‘ist noch nicht ankommen’ (D-Dla 10006 OHMA B 19, f. 84). In a payment list dated 1 December 1711 (D-Dla, 10026 Geh. Kab. Loc. 910/1, ‘Die Königl : Poln : und Churfürstl : Sächß : Music und Orchestra . . . [1] Decembris 1711’, ff. 1–2. [1.12.1711] Music und Orchestra) the position previously filled by Carlo Fiorelli (his was the second listing next to the concert master Volumier in the Orchestra list of c.1709 ) was now vacant, and a replacement was required. The note following ‘N. N.’ (Pisendel Violist und Cam[m]er- Musicus) demostrates that Pisendel filled this position.
