Remarks
NB: Today, this Mass by Ciampi is held in Berlin (D-B, Mus. ms. 3609): Missa Solemnis für 4 St. und Instr. A-Dur (1758). The hand seen in the Berlin source is the same as that in Ciampi’s Te Deum (D-Dl, Mus. 3059-E-1). See the listing (I/C/9/1).
NB: This score is not in the hand of Baldan, but perhaps it was written by one of his copyists? It is dated ‘21 7bre 1758:’ — the same date given for Ciampi’s Te Deum setting: I/C/9/1. Although this score is not in the hand of Baldan, it comes from his copying house. If the date given above is correct, this would be the latest of the dated scores listed in the Catalogo from Baldan’s Venetian business and thus, a terminus ante quem for the sacred music he supplied to Dresden is given.
This Berlin example (D-B, Mus. ms. 3609) must have been taken from Dresden pre-1900. See the entry of Eitner.
