Zwey warhafftige und erschröliche neue Zeitung

Die ander Zeitung.
 
1.
Komt her zu alle Christen-Leut
und höret an mit Traurigkeit
worvon ich jetzt will singen
was sich kürzlich begeben hat
so gar schröckliche Mordthat
betrachts ihr Mensch[en K]inder.

In einem Flecken wol bekandt
bey Sant Andrea in Karden ist es gennant
darinn war [.]nge [.]essen
zween Männer verrucht und Gottlos
die [.]ichten an ein übel groß
vom Teuffel so besessen. 
 
3.
Nun hört weiter ihr Menschen-Kind
was sie begangen für grosse Sünd
an ihren Weib und Kindern
weil sie Gott nicht vor Augen ghan
das [l]iebe Gebet auch unterlahn
der Satan Platz thät finden.

In einem Dorff nich weit darvon
die Männer da arbeiten thun
um den Lohn bey einem Bauren
treschen Getraid ihm etlich Tag
was sie gemacht für ein Rahtschlag
das ist wol zu betauren.

Der ein da zu dem andern redt
wie er kein lust nach Haus mehr hät
zu seinem Weib und Kindern
sein Weib die sey stäts wider ihn
was er auch gewinn sey als dahin
er könnts nicht als erschwingen.

Der ander ihm zur Antwort gab
Bruder nun merck was ich dir sag
wir wollens also machen
unsere Weib un' Kind schlage' zu todt
damit wir kommen aus der Roht
niemand weis um die Sachen.

Derselb Raht ihm gefallen thät
der ihm der Bößwicht angeben hät
durchs bösen Geist eingeben
vom Bauren sie bald Abschied nahm
wollen nach Haus auch einmahl gahn
und sehen wie es thut stehen.
 
8.
Unter wegen thut mich verstahn
ein Knuttel schwer sie machen thun 
der ein voran thut gehen
als er heim kam zu seinem Haus
sein schwanger Frau ohn Forcht und graus
thät ihn freundlich empfangen.
 
9.
Beym Mörder kein Erbarmung war
mit seinem Knüttel groß und shwär
schlug er sie zu der Erden
müste schmerzlich ihr Leben lahn
die ander Frau so ihr Schwester war
das Mord=Gschrey bald thät hören.
 
10.
Sie laufft herben gar schnell und bald
wolt sehen was für ein Gestalt
es in dem Haus häben
der Mörder aber grausamlich
mit seinem Prügel jämmerlich
zur Erden sie thät schlagen.

Daß sie aufgab den Geist alsbald
der Bößwicht Mörderischer gestalt
eilends ins Haus thät gehen
zwey Kinder lagn in einem Bett
die er auch willens zu Morden hät
O Mensch laß dirs zu Herzen gehen.

Das eine schlug er bald zu todt
O weh o weh der grossen Noht
das ander auch dergleichen 
hat er geschlagen dergestalt
hinter dem Bett es oben fallt
thät doch beym Leben bleiben.
 
13.
Als nun diser Bösewicht unfrum
sein Weib und Kind gebracht hat um
nach dem Raht seines Mitgsellen
giengen sie beed gschwind wider fort
samt werens sie nie gewesen an dem Ort
widerum arbeint wöllen.
 
14.
Noch etlich Tag arbeitens ihm
darnach giengen sie wider hin
die Weiber sie Tod funden 
haben sich übel über die maß
weil sie gewesen auf der Straß
seynd gstorben ihr Weib und kinder 
 
15.
Aber Gott in dem höchsten Thron
wolt solches nicht ungrochen lahn
das kleine Kind merck eben
welches entrunnen aus dem Haus
sagt wie sein Vatter hät mit grauß
die Mutter bracht ums Leben.
 
16.
Darauf man sie gefangen hat
sie bald bekännt die übel that 
was sie begangen haben
wie sie ihr eigen Fleisch und Blut 
das kein Thier oder Hund nicht thut
ermord und bracht ums Leben.
 
17.
Gar bald ein Weise Oberkeit
das Urtheil gfällt über die beyd
wie ihr jetzt sollet hören
von wegen ihrer übelthat
zu einer Warnun jung and alt
daß sich keiner laß verführen.
 
18.
Erstlich dem der sein Frau und Kind
ermordet hat soll man geschwind
auf die Richtstatt ausführen
ihm seine Glieder mit dem Rad
mit grossem Schmerzen schlagen ab
weiter solt ihr anhören.
 
19.
Drey Tag und Nacht O Christlichs Herz
lebendig blieb er mit grossem Schmerz
ein groß Geschrey thät führen
zu letzt ganz kläglich gstorben ist
betracht es wol mein frommer Christ
hüt dich vor Satans Stricken.
 
20.
Den andern Mann auch mit dem Rad
hat hingericht auf der Wahlstatt
sein Glieder abgestossen
weil er ein solche bösen Rath
zu solchem Mord gegeben hat
den Knüttel helffen machen.
 
21.
O Mensch laß dirs ein Warnung seyn
betracht die Angst der Höllen-Pein
hüt dich vor Schand und Sünden
ruff allzeit an den lieben Gott
Er wöll uns bhüten für Schand und Spott
auf daß wirs Leben finden.

two men wicked and godless
possessed by a great evil
from the devil.

because they do not have God before their eyes

Satan finds a place.

In a village not far from there
the men working there
Do the reward for a peasant
… each day
what they make for a piece of advice
that is good to entrust

The one here says to the other
how he has no desire to return home
to his wife and children
His wife says to him again
what wages he made before then
he cannot now afford.

The other gave him for answer
‘Brother now mark what I say
We should do like this:
Our wives and children strike to death
That way we come out clean
no one will know about it.’

His counsel pleased him
He who the villain had boasted to
That the evil spirit had entered
From the village they soon took farewell
Went at once to home
To see how things stood.

On the way as I understand
A hard truncheon they did make
The one ahead to go 
as he came to his house
his pregnant wife without fear or horror
received him kindly.

The murderer had no mercy
With his truncheon great and heavy
He beat her to the earth
Had to painfully her life ?
The other woman who was her sister
the murder cries soon did hear.

She ran .. fast and soon
would see what kind of figure
was in the house
but the murderer was horribly
with his club wretchedly
striking her on the earth.

As soon as she gave up the ghost
the murderous figure of the villain 
hurriedly went into the house
two children lay in bed
he also wanted to murder them
O man take this to heart.

One he soon struck to death
O woe O woe what great hardship
The other also the same
He beat in such a way
that he fell behind the bed
but he kept his life.
 
13.
So when this impious villain
Had brought his wife and child
According to the advice of his partner
they both went away again quickly
They were never been together at the place
Wanting to return to work.
 
14.
After working several days
Afterward they went back again
The wife they put to death
They have evil beyond all measure
because they had been on the street
they who murdered the wives and children.
 
15.
But God in the highest throne
Would not leave such unpunished
Mark now the little child
Who escaped from the house
Tells how his father has, with horror,
Robbed the mother of life.
 
16.
Then were they caught
Soon was known the evil
That they had carried out
On their own flesh and blood
That no animal or dog would do
Murder and rob of life.
 
17.
Very soon a wise authority
The judgment passed on both
As you shall hear now
That because of their evil actions
A Warning to young and old
To not let oneself be seduced.
 
18.
First he who murdered his wife and child
Was swiftly brought 
To the place of execution
His limbs with the wheel
In great pain beaten off.
You shall hear more.
 
19.
Three days and nights, O Christlike Heart
he remained alive in great pain
A great cry he made
Then at last died out pitifully
Consider it well my devout Christian
Beware of Satan's knitting.
 
20.
The other man was also on the wheel 
Executed on the Wahlstatt
His members torn off
Because he gave such evil counsel
for such a murder 
Helping to make the bludgeon.
 
21. 
Oh Man, let this be a warning
Consider the fear of hell-torment
Beware of sin and shame
Call at all times in the dear Lord
He will keep us from shame and ridicule
So that we may find life.
