Description

I captured this photo when I was on my way to the university’s health services at Cardigan street due to flu symptoms. I remember it was around 8.30 AM in the morning on Friday. Normally, tram around this time will be packed of people and I hardly get seat on my way to university. However, that day the tram was really quiet and the COVID-19 impact to our community has become more surreal to me than ever. Arriving at the health services for me was another nightmare, wearing a mask and coughing made me feel like I am a criminal. I was really scared as I felt that people were staring at me, making distance, and I even felt that the doctor was scared of being in one room with me. I have heard lots of racism going on due to COVID-19 spread, and as an international student I was really afraid that I will get that too at that moment.
