Description

The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra live broadcast its performances this week. We watched it along with thousands of people around the world, and it felt like a unifying moment of solidarity for the Orchestra, the arts, and each other. Strangers chatted about it in the Youtube comments, friends made Instagram stories about them boiling gnocchi to the rising crescendo. I thought of my brother who works for the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and faces an uncertain future. My recently adopted cat, Jolene, also features and has been an enormous source of comfort and companionship during these times.
