This is a photo of my workplace, the week that the restrictions that would decimate the entertainment and hospitality sectors were increasingly introduced. The black space on this wall is usually painted with the names of dozens of bands who would be playing at the pub that week, however every single show was cancelled, and the pub closed down indefinitely a few days after this photo. It’s a little cheesy, but the blank blackness makes me think of staring into an abyss – not knowing what will happen next, and when or if life as I knew it will resume.
