A sign reading 'Abbey Art Centre' is mounted on the vine-covered wall to the left while the street number '89' is just visible on the gate post behind the parked van. Photograph inscribed verso: 'Mail boys were frightened to go up the drive -' / The Abbey had a bad reputation'.
