Abstract
The actual competition began on 26 June 2009 with a site visit and briefing session with the six shortlisted respondents and the jurors. For the competition stage, the shortlisted entrants were required to submit schematic designs for the new building, basing these on the criteria from the call for expressions of interest, which were built pedagogy, the academic environment, the design studio and the living building. The winning archtect was announced 30 September 2009. An exhibition of competition entries and selected Expressions of Interest entries was held from November to December 2009.
