Description An account of the resource The Kids in Action on COVID-19 is an international collaboration that aims to provide a platform for children and young people’s ideas to promote the best outcomes during and after the COVID-19 restrictions. In this project, adult and young researchers will collaborate locally and internationally to find out how children and young people have contributed during the COVID-19 pandemic and create a digital exhibition. Local projects will also engage with their communities to disseminate their findings. We want to work with young people on doing this because we believe that their ideas and experiences are crucial to understanding how to support them during these times of crisis. In this way, we seek to promote opportunities for child and youth citizenship. Additionally, we aim to scale up the impact of young people’s local contributions by connecting them through an international network. Title A name given to the resource Community Caterpillar Description An account of the resource In November last year, the 1st Vic Sea Scouts organized a community activity to create the longest chalk pavement trail in the world – a 7.5km caterpillar that was designed to be fun and creative for the local kids, get families out walking and reconnecting, and to convey positive messages and messages of thanks to those who had given so much during the year, showing what can be achieved when we work together as a team. The trail was 7.5 km long and weaved it’s way through Middle Park and Albert park, and gave families and local kids the chance to set out on a journey to find the head and tail, colour in the caterpillar, or write their own personal message.
