Remarks
In the later ‘Catalogo della Musica di Chiesa’ (c1784) score and parts are listed under Missae pro Defunctis: No: 3) Requiem; Dies irae; Offertorium (without score); Sanctus; Agnus (III/Z/14/3).
The scoring is given is: ‘à 4 voci co’VVni, Oboi, Viola, 3. Tromboni ed Org.’; scoring for the Dies irae, Sanctus and Agnus is given as: ‘à 4 voci co’VVni, Oboi, Viola ed Org.’; scoring of the Offertorium is: ‘à 4 voci co’VVni, Viola, ed Org.’
Might this be part of the Requiem Zelenka composed for the exequies held on 3 March 1724 in the Dresden Hofkirche following the death of his father? On that day the Dresden Diarium Missionis reported ‘Hora 10. cantatum Requiem pro parente Domini Zelenka, quod ipse composuit et cum Regiis Musicis produxit.‘ (At 10 o’clock, Requiem Mass for a parent of Zelenka: he himself composed and produced it with the royal musicians).
See Kohlhase, ‘Der Dresdener Hofkirchenkomponist’, 170, and Zelenka-Dokumentation, Dok.59a, 3) 135–6; 291, ZWV 49.
Concordance:
CS-Pnm, XXXIII A 75 (‘Floriano Burian Oss: Prof:/A. 1730’. Stamp: ‘Osecky kláster’).
