Thus, first performed on 2.9.1726, at the order of Maria Josepha at Pillnitz for the return from Warsaw of her husband. Text by Dresden court poet Stefano Pallavicino. (Fürstenau II, 161).
Revised in 1728 for the visit to Dresden of the Prussian King and Crown Prince Frederick (who requested a copy of the score), and again for the visit to Moscow by Ristori and an Italian troupe for the coronation festivities of Russian Empress Anna Ivanova. Performed there on 11 December 1731. (GMO).
The score of Mus. 2455-F-1 opens with a symphonic overture (‘Apertura’) scored for Corni da Caccia; vn. 1,2; va.; b.c., whereas the incipit of the Hofkirche ‘Catalogo’ (1765) begins with a recitative (S. clef), and is listed as ‘imperfetti
