Part books (8 vocal; 4 instrumental) exist, each with a label in the hand of Ristori. Books are for Canto; Alto; Tenore; Basso; C[anto] R; A[lto] R; T[enor] R; B[asso] R; Violino 1[prim]o; Violino 2do; Tiorba (‘Pro Directore’ is written below ‘Tiorba’ in Zelenka’s hand); Organo.
The works are: Iube Domine; Confiteor; Cum invocarem; In te Domine; Qui habitat; Ecce nunc; Te lucis; Nunc dimittis.
These settings must have been used by the Kapellknaben of Dresden’s Catholic court church. They show signs of moderate use, and must be regarded as being among the earliest materials performed by the Kapellknaben who seem to have been responsible for the music for Compline, an office for which Heinichen and Zelenka composed almost no music, a fact noted by Horn (Hkm, 130).
